Jeffrey Preston Bezos (born January 12, 1964) is an American entrepreneur, media proprietor, and investor. He is the founder and former chief executive officer of Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce and cloud computing company. He is also the founder of Blue Origin, a space exploration company, and owner of 2 . As of the early 2020s, he is one of the wealthiest individuals in modern history.
Bezos was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and graduated from Princeton University in 1986 with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. He worked on Wall Street in various technology roles before founding Amazon in 1994 in Seattle, Washington. The company began as an online bookstore but rapidly diversified into a broad e-commerce platform, cloud services (Amazon Web Services), and digital streaming.
